Privacy Policy
Assisted Academy LLC (“Assisted Academy,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates this website to provide continuing education courses for California Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE) administrators. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you.
1. Information we collect
When you register for a course, we collect:
- Name
- Email address
- Phone number (if provided)
- Mailing address (if provided, for materials that require it)
- Payment information, processed directly by our payment processor, Stripe. We do not store your card number or full payment details on our own systems.
When you join the waitlist for the self-paced bundle, we collect only your email address. No payment information is collected as joining the waitlist involves no payment.
We do not request or store RCFE certificate or license numbers.
2. How we use your information
We use the information above to:
- Process course registration and payment
- Communicate about your course, including scheduling, reminders, and certificate delivery
- Notify you when the self-paced 20-hour bundle becomes available, if you join the waitlist
- Respond to questions sent to hello@assistedacademy.com
- Maintain attendance and completion records as required by the California Department of Social Services (CDSS) for approved continuing education vendors
3. Sharing of information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with:
- Stripe, to process payment
- CDSS, to the extent required for course approval, monitoring, or audit of vendor records
- Zoom, the video conferencing platform used to deliver live course sessions. We do not record live sessions.
- Other service providers who help operate the site or deliver the course, solely to support those functions
4. Cookies and tracking
This site uses cookies that are strictly necessary for it to function — for example, to keep your enrollment in your cart, to complete checkout, and to maintain your session. These cannot be disabled without breaking the enrollment process.
Our payment processor, Stripe, sets its own cookies to process payment and detect fraud. Stripe’s handling of that information is governed by its own privacy policy.
Our store software also sets a cookie that records how you reached this site — the site or search that referred you, any campaign link you followed, the page you arrived on, how many pages you viewed, and your browser type. This information is attached to your order so we can see which listings and referrals bring administrators to the course. It stays on this site, is not shared with any advertising network, and is not used to follow you across other websites.
We count visits to the site using software that runs on our own server. It sets no cookie, and it shares nothing with any third party.
Beyond that, as of the effective date above we do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we use no third-party analytics service. If we introduce any such tool, we will update this Privacy Policy to describe what is used and how you can opt out.
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent enrollment from working.
5. Do Not Track
Our site does not currently respond differently to browser “Do Not Track” signals. As of the effective date above, no cross-site tracking is in place. This section will be updated if that changes.
6. Data retention
We retain registration and payment records for as long as needed to administer your course. We retain attendance and course completion records for the period required by CDSS regulations governing continuing education vendors.
We also keep a log of the messages this site sends you — purchase confirmations, joining instructions, reminders, and certificates — including the recipient address and the content of each message. These logged copies are deleted automatically after 90 days. The registration, attendance and completion records described above are held separately, for the periods stated.
7. Your rights
California residents may have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we hold about you, request its deletion, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell or share personal information). To make a request, contact us at hello@assistedacademy.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
8. Children’s privacy
This site is intended for licensed facility administrators and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top will reflect the most recent revision.
