Terms of Service
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of this website and your purchase of courses from Assisted Academy LLC (“Assisted Academy,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By registering for a course or otherwise using this site, you agree to these Terms.
1. About our courses
Assisted Academy is a continuing education vendor approved by the California Department of Social Services (CDSS), RCFE Vendor Number 2000868-740-2.
Our current course is the 20-Hour RCFE Administrator CEU Bundle: a live, instructor-led, fully online course delivered over two 10-hour days, for a one-time fee of $159.
California requires RCFE administrators to complete 40 hours of continuing education every two years to renew certification, of which at least 20 hours must be completed in a live format and 20 hours may be completed in a self-paced format. Our 20-Hour RCFE Administrator CEU Bundle satisfies the live 20-hour portion of that requirement. A 20-hour self-paced bundle is in development. Completing both the live bundle and the self-paced bundle together satisfies the full 40-hour renewal requirement. You may join a waitlist to be notified when the self-paced bundle becomes available; joining the waitlist does not involve any payment and is not a purchase.
Assisted Academy’s course approval reflects CDSS’s approval of course content and vendor status. It is not a guarantee of your certification renewal, of passing any related exam, or of any other outcome. You are responsible for confirming your own renewal requirements and deadlines with CDSS.
2. Attendance and certificate issuance
Under CDSS regulations governing continuing education vendors (22 CCR § 84091), online courses must be structured so that participants cannot receive credit for an approved course until they have completed the full number of hours approved for that course, and vendors are required to monitor and document attendance.
Accordingly:
- A certificate of completion will only be issued for hours actually attended and verified.
- Credit is earned course by course, and a course counts only once its full approved hours are complete. If you attend part of a course — for example, one of two required hours — you must repeat that course in full at a future session rather than only the hour you missed, so the content is delivered as approved and without gaps in continuity.
- If you miss any portion of the 20 hours, that portion will not be certified. Your certificate will list only the approved courses you completed; any course you did not complete must be repeated in full at a future live session to be certified. Reschedules and makeup sessions apply per seat, not per order. See our Refund Policy for the fee, timing, and availability terms that apply to makeup sessions.
- Assisted Academy instructors may not receive continuing education credit for attending Assisted Academy’s own courses, consistent with CDSS regulations.
3. Payment
The course fee is $159, due at the time of registration, processed through Stripe. We do not store your full payment card details.
4. Cancellations, rescheduling, and refunds
Cancellation, rescheduling, and refund terms are set out in our separate Refund Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
5. Course materials
Course materials, recordings, and content provided as part of the course are the property of Assisted Academy and are provided for your individual use only. You may not record, reproduce, distribute, or share course materials or sessions without our prior written consent.
6. Participant conduct
Live sessions bring together administrators from facilities across California, and a good part of their value comes from the questions and discussion that happen along the way. We ask that you help keep that environment productive for everyone.
If something in a session becomes disruptive, we will raise it with you privately first and give you the chance to carry on. If the disruption continues, we may ask you to leave the remainder of that session. Conduct that is abusive or harassing toward the instructor or another participant may result in removal without a prior warning.
If you are asked to leave, the hours you did not attend are not certified, and your certificate will list the approved courses you completed up to that point. The course fee remains non-refundable under our Refund Policy, and you may arrange a makeup session for the remaining courses on the same terms as any other reschedule.
7. Registration and identity
A registration is for one named individual. Each seat you purchase must name its attendee — full name and email address — at the time of purchase. You may purchase seats for other people. Once a seat is registered to a named attendee, that registration cannot be transferred to someone else.
Please join each session using the name and email address given at registration, so we can match your attendance to your record.
Because CDSS requires us to monitor and document attendance for every approved course, participation is verified throughout each session. We do this using a combination of roll call, periodic chat check-ins, quizzes, and group discussion. Hours cannot be credited to you if someone else attends in your place, or if we are unable to verify that you attended.
If you can no longer attend the dates you registered for, please contact us at hello@assistedacademy.com to reschedule rather than sending a colleague in your place. Our Refund Policy describes the terms that apply.
8. Eligibility
Our courses are intended for individuals renewing certification as a California RCFE administrator, or others seeking the training for their own purposes. This course provides continuing education hours toward renewal; it does not satisfy the requirements for initial RCFE administrator certification. You are responsible for determining whether this course meets your specific renewal needs.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
This site and our courses are provided on an “as is” basis. Assisted Academy makes no warranty that the course will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will result in any particular certification outcome. Nothing on this site constitutes legal advice regarding your certification or licensing obligations; for questions about your specific renewal status, contact CDSS directly.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Assisted Academy’s total liability arising out of your use of this site or participation in a course will not exceed the amount you paid for the course. Assisted Academy is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site or course.
11. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any dispute arising out of these Terms or your use of the site will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The effective date at the top will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
